The Ministry of Finance and Economy of Turkmenistan, together with the ministries and sectoral departments of the country, the Hakimlik of the velayats, the cities of Ashgabat and Arkadag, developed the project «Program for the socio-economic development of the country for 2024».
As Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs H. Geldimyradov said at a government meeting via video link, the document was developed in accordance with the «Program of the President of Turkmenistan for the socio-economic development of the country for 2022–2028» and the State Budget for 2024.
In accordance with the draft Program, during the year it is planned to implement measures aimed at ensuring macroeconomic stability and strengthening the economic power of the Fatherland, sustainable GDP growth, and the development of industries and regions. It is also planned to use industrial enterprises to their full production capacity and create new jobs in the regions.
Among the top priorities are an increase in export destinations by increasing the competitiveness of the national economy, the development of import-substituting industries, and the growth of production of environmentally friendly, high-quality agricultural products and food products. Along with this, work will continue to provide state support to agricultural producers, ensure food abundance, high-quality transport, housing and communal services, social and other types of services to the population, as well as the dynamic development of small and medium-sized businesses, the creation of a favorable business environment, and the improvement of public-private partnerships .
After listening to the report, President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov noted that the implementation of the measures outlined in the draft Program for the socio-economic development of the country for 2024 is designed to ensure sustainable growth of the Fatherland in the economic and social aspects, strengthen the power of industries and regions, increase the level of employment and life of the population.
