Representatives of the Russian company «RZD Logistics» made a business visit to get acquainted with the facilities of the Turkmenbashy International Seaport and the capabilities of the railway infrastructure of Turkmenistan. According to the press service of the «Turkmendenizderyayollary» Agency, the guests were familiarized in detail with the technical equipment and services provided by the general, container, passenger-ferry and bulk cargo terminals of the seaport. During a business meeting of representatives of the «RZD Logistics» company with specialists from the Turkmenbashy International Seaport, JSC «Demiryollary» and PJSC «Transport and Logistics Centre of Turkmenistan», the logistics potential of the transport sector of Turkmenistan was discussed and the advantages created by the country for foreign forwarders were considered.

In this regard, the possibility of regular transportation of grain crops between the Russian ports of Makhachkala and Astrakhan and the Turkmenbashy international seaport in the direction of Afghanistan and Iran was noted, as well as the prospect of regular container transportation between the ports of Turkmenbashy-Astrakhan. The guests expressed interest in delivering goods to the international port of Turkmenbashy by sea from March 2024, if, based on the results of the business trip and analysis of the information received, this would be appropriate and the forecasts for expanding cooperation are favourable. They will send their recommendations based on the results of the analysis through official channels. The program of the business visit of representatives of the Russian company to the Balkan velayat also included a visit to the «Bereket» and «Ak Yayla» railway stations.
