Competitions in Rapid and Blitz concluded the championship of Turkmenistan in chess among boys and girls under 14, 16 and 18 years old in Ashgabat, which was held in all three currently popular formats, including the "classical" with full time control.

Rapid and blitz are two popular types of chess games that differ in the amount of time allocated for each move.

The term "rapid" comes from the English word meaning "fast." It is a format of fast chess, where each player is given 15 minutes with an additional 10 seconds added for each move. In the "blitz" format, each player is usually allocated 3 minutes with an additional 2 seconds added for each move.

According to the Chess Federation of Turkmenistan, Ilhan Charyev (Lebap) and Amanmuhammet Hommadow (Ashgabat) won the gold medals in both tournaments in the categories among boys U-16 and U-18 respectively.

Gurbanmyrat Rustemov (Lebap) became the champion in rapid chess in the boys U-14 category, but he couldn't repeat his success in the "classical" format. Tahir Iminov from Ashgabat won the blitz tournament again, after previously winning the lightning game championship among boys U-12 years old.

In the girls U-14 category, Aylar Semenderova, a two-time national champion in young age categories in previous years, won the rapid chess competition, beating by a half a point Myahri Agamyradova (Lebap), who managed to win the blitz tournament.

In the girls U-16 category, Gulmira Seyilhanova from Lebap won the rapid tournament with a significant lead. The blitz tournament, however, was a very exciting competition. The top three players each scored 7 points. Only based on the fourth additional indicator (number of wins with black pieces), Myahrijemal Gurbangeldieva from Ashgabat fell behind the leaders and took the 3rd place. The first two players, Myahri Aymakova from Lebap and Oguljeren Saparova from Ahal, had equal scores in all criteria. As a result, the fate of the gold medal had to be decided in an "Armageddon" game, where Oguljeren, playing with the black pieces, won against her opponent and claimed the top spot on the podium.

In the girls U-18 category, the dominance of the Shokhradova sisters continued. Leila became the champion in both the "classical" and rapid tournaments, while Lala won the blitz tournament.

In the team standings of the rapid competition, the top three teams are as follows: Lebap team - 5 gold, 3 silver and 2 bronze medals; representatives of Ashgabat - 1 gold, 2 silver, 4 bronze; chess players from Ahal - 1 silver.

In the blitz competition, the distribution of medals is as follows: Lebap - 3 gold, 2 silver, 4 bronze; Ashgabat - 2 gold, 3 silver, 1 bronze; Ahal - 1 gold, 1 silver; Mary - 1 bronze.

In the overall team standings based on the three formats of the game, the students of the Lebap Chess School won 12 gold, 7 silver and 9 bronze medals. The chess players from Ashgabat took second place with 4 gold, 8 silver and 5 bronze medals. The team from Ahal velayat closed the top three with 1 gold, 2 silver and 1 bronze medal. The representatives of Mary velayat narrowly missed the bronze medal, with 1 gold, 1 silver, and 3 bronze medals to their credit.
