An Olympiad in mathematical modeling among students of higher educational institutions of Turkmenistan was held at the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.

The student competition is timed to coincide with the Day of Diplomatic Workers of Turkmenistan, which is celebrated annually in our country on February 18.

The event was organized by the Department of International Economic Relations of the Faculty of International Economic Relations of the IIR of Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.

According to the results of the Olympiad, 30 participants received prizes. Muhammet Amandurdiyev and Yupar Egirdzhayeva (IIR of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan), Byahbitgeldi Gurtlyev (Military Institute of the Ministry of Defense of the country), Yalkapberdy Baylyev, Shohrat Bayramov (Institute of Engineering, Technical and Transport Communications of Turkmenistan), Ramazan Nuryagdiyev won 7 first places (Turkmen Agricultural Institute) and Tagandurdy Meredov (Institute of Telecommunications and Informatics of Turkmenistan).

11 second and 12 third places were awarded to students the above-mentioned universities, as well as the State Energy Institute of Turkmenistan, the the Turkmen State Architecture and Construction Institute, the Turkmen State University named after Makhtumkuli, Turkmen State Institute of Finance, Turkmen State Institute of Economics and Management, Border Institute of Turkmenistan, International University of Oil and Gas named after Ya.Kakaev and the Turkmen State Institute of Physical Culture and Sports.

The winners and prize-winners of the Olympiad will be awarded with diplomas of appropriate degrees and memorable gifts. Certificates of honor will be presented to their scientific supervisors who took part in preparing students for the competition. The award ceremony will take place at the university on the eve of the Day of Diplomatic Workers of Turkmenistan.

It should be noted that the competition was held in two stages. The first one took place in the form of a test, which included 50 questions. In the second stage, participants were offered 6 economic and mathematical problems and 4 hours to solve them. The leaders of the competition were determined by the jury members based on the total points scored in two rounds. The jury team consisted of one teacher from each university participating in the Olympiad, as well as representatives of scientific institutions, enterprises, industries, and specialized experts.

It is noteworthy that students from different universities, including non-core ones, of different specialties and areas of training, took part in the Mathematical modeling Olympiad and successfully performed. This fact demonstrates the high level of education in the country's higher schools, where the necessary conditions have been created and ample opportunities have been provided for the comprehensive intellectual and creative development of young people, the upbringing of a new generation of highly qualified specialists.

Along with this, an important role is played by the desire of students themselves for knowledge, the study of various sciences, self-development and self-improvement, successful professional development.

The student competition was held in order to strengthen understanding of the importance and necessity of studying mathematical modeling, economic and mathematical methods and models among young people in modern conditions of development

of the national economy, its digital transformation.

The event is aimed at improving educational, scientific and educational activities focused on the development of the digital economy in the country, the introduction of innovations, advanced

technologies and production management methods, as well as strengthening effective interaction between the country's universities in relevant fields.

The Olympiad was organized in accordance with the plans for the implementation of the "Concept for the development of the digital education system in Turkmenistan", "The concept for the development of the digital economy in Turkmenistan

Turkmenistan for 2019-2025" and "The State Program for the development of the digital economy in Turkmenistan for 2021-2025".
