The first Ashgabat-Kuala Lumpur flight made a smooth landing at the airport of the Malaysian capital.
The newly arrived passengers were ceremoniously greeted by Muhammatniyaz Mashalov, Ambassador of Turkmenistan to Malaysia, and Dato Sri Tiong King Sing, Minister of Tourism, Arts, and Culture of Malaysia.
According to the Turkmenistan Airlines website, regular flights in this diretion were officially launched on February 15, 2024. Ashgabat-Kuala Lumpur flights will be operated twice a week by Boeing 777-200LR/777-300ER aircraft with capacities of 289 and 368 seats, respectively. The flight duration is 8 hours and 10 minutes.
In addition, the national carrier launched a direct flight from Ashgabat to Jeddah. The first Ashgabat-Jeddah flight was operated by a Boeing 777-200LR aircraft. The flight duration on this route was 4 hours.
Flights to the port city in Saudi Arabia will be operated twice a week, on Wednesdays and Fridays.
