The Central Office of the State Customs Service of Turkmenistan hosted a "Round table" on the practical implementation of the "Guidelines for the Mutual Recognition of Authorized Economic Operators (AEO)" of the World Customs Organization in Central Asia and the South Caucasus.

Turkmenistan was represented by employees of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, the State Customs Service of Turkmenistan and the Agency for Transport and Communications under the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan.

Experts of the World Customs Organization, representatives of the UN Friends of Sustainable Transport Group, the Secretariat of the Intergovernmental Commission on the International Transport Corridor Europe-the Caucasus-Asia (TRACECA), as well as customs officials from Central Asian countries, Azerbaijan, and Georgia also participated in the round table through video conferencing.

The event was held as part of the visit of Igor Runov, the Executive Secretary of the United Nations International Center for Transport Diplomacy, to Turkmenistan.

The participants discussed the possibility of creating a Regional Agreement on the Mutual Recognition of Authorized Economic Operators in Eurasia.

In this regard, they considered examples of the activities of Regional Agreements in different regions of the world, such as South Africa, the Middle East and the European Economic Community.
