The GDP growth rate of Turkmenistan for two months of 2024 exceeded 6 percent

The growth rate of Turkmenistan's gross domestic product in the first two months of 2024 was 6.3 percent. Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs H. Geldimyradov announced this at a government meeting on the results of two months of 2024.

The Deputy Prime Minister noted that as a result of the successful implementation of comprehensive measures during the period under review, the GDP growth rate was 6.3 percent.

Compared to the same period in 2023, the volume of production increased by 7.9 percent, contributing to the positive growth of production indicators by industry. Over the two months of this year, retail trade turnover increased by 10.5 percent compared to the same period last year, and foreign trade turnover by 1.1 percent.

The revenue part of the State budget was fulfilled at the level of 107.2 percent, and the expenditure part - 97.9 percent.

Wages at large and medium-sized enterprises in the country increased by 10.3 percent compared to the corresponding period in 2023. Wages, pensions, government benefits and student scholarships are funded in a timely manner.

Compared to the same period last year, in January–February, the volume of capital investments disbursed from all sources of financing increased by 24.6 percent.

It was also noted at the government meeting that in two months from the beginning of this year, the plan for the production of oil and gas condensate was fulfilled by 100.2 percent, in particular, by the State Concern «Türkmennebit» - at the level of 102.4 percent. Information was given about the implementation of the plan for oil refining at the State Concern's oil refineries at the level of 101.9 percent.

Also, during the period under review, the plan for the production of gasoline was fulfilled by 101.8 percent, diesel fuel by 100.4 percent, and lubricating oils by 109 percent. The growth rate of «blue fuel» exports compared to the same period last year amounted to 100.5 percent.
