On March 12, 2024, the Embassy of Turkmenistan, with the assistance of the Institute of Culture of the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) in Tehran, organized a gala event dedicated to the 300th anniversary of the birth of the great Turkmen poet and thinker Magtymguly Fragi. The event from the Iranian side was attended by employees of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance, the Majlis (Parliament), representatives of the scientific intelligentsia, such prominent figures as the vice-president of the Iranian Association of Cultural Artifacts and Monuments Dr.Alireza Habibi, researchers of the creativity of Magtymguly Fragi Dr.Nasser Koli Sarli (Kharazmi University) and Dr.Amangylych Shadmehr (Majlis).

On behalf of the co-organizers of the cultural event, the President of the ECO Institute of Culture Saad Khan, addressed the audience with a welcoming speech.

The participants of the event were familiarized with the ongoing efforts of the Government of Turkmenistan to study and preserve the immortal heritage of the Turkmen writer, in connection with which the motto of the current year in Turkmenistan was announced as the year “The Fount of the Mind of Magtymguly Fragi.” Also, within the framework of 2024, various events are organized in Turkmenistan and abroad.

During the cultural event, famous Iranian scientists read out the poems of the great Turkmen poet Magtymguly Fragi, and also spoke in detail about the work of the Turkmen classic.
