As part of the celebration of the 300th anniversary of the birth of Magtymguly Fragi, the Halach etrap council of the Youth Organization of Turkmenistan named after Magtymguly and the local education department organized an excursion to the medieval historical and cultural monument located in Lebap velayat - the Idris Baba madrasah, where the great Turkmen poet and philosopher studied. The event entitled «Magtymguly Pyragynyň döredijiligi - milli terbiýäniň nusgasy» was dedicated to the richness of Magtymguly’s poetic world, in which young people can find answers to many important questions of life, and the enormous educational potential of his immortal creative heritage.
The young people who took part in this event got acquainted with the history of the madrasah, read poems by the classical poet dedicated to the Motherland, the nature of the native land, friendship and loyalty. It was noted that the poetry of Magtymguly Fragi represents the basis of the national school of education, and it was emphasized that the current independent and prosperous Turkmenistan is the embodiment of the prophetic works of the great patriot and humanist.
Madrasah Idris Baba is an ancient educational institution named after its founder. According to legend, Idris Baba was born in these parts around 1690 and lived to be a hundred years old. He was one of the highly educated representatives of his time; in the educational institution built on his initiative, he taught various sciences and educated worthy successors to his work. It was in this madrasah that Magtymguly came to study, having made a difficult journey from his native village.
Lebapians carefully preserve the memory of their fellow countryman - the enlightener Idris Baba. In the year of «The Fount of the Wisdom Magtymguly Fragi», work is underway to reconstruct the road leading to this historical monument.
