President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov received Minister of Energy, Industry and Mineral Resources of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Khaleed bin Abdulaziz Al-Falih.
Having expressed the gratitude for the time for the meeting and opportunity to discuss topical issues of the interstate cooperation in person, the guest conveyed warm greetings of the King of Saudi Arabia Salman Bin Abdul-Aziz Al Saud who addressed sincere wishes of peace, prosperity and success to the people of Turkmenistan.
Conveying return wishes to the King of Saudi Arabia, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov highlighted the constructive character of bilateral cooperation and stated the presence of considerable potential for further steadfast increase of the partnership.
Detailed exchange of the visions of the prospects of cooperation in priority directions took place during the meeting and positive dynamics of the development of trade and economic, humanitarian and cultural relations was mentioned. At the same time, the importance of the agreements reached during official visit of the President of Turkmenistan to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in May of the last year was emphasized.
Large-scale social and economic programmes and investment projects undertaken in our country open wide opportunities for diversification of productive partnership. Trade and economic, transport and communication sphere, construction chemical industry and other branches were named among the perspective fields of cooperation.
Consolidation of cooperation in oil and gas sector was a separate subject of the conversation. It was highlighted that Turkmenistan and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia are willing to develop cooperation in production of hydrocarbon resources and other spheres of fuel and energy complex.
Having noted that that Turkmenistan counts on innovative technologies and latest achievements of technical progress in its energy policy, attracting leading world’s companies and foreign investments, the Head of the State offered the partners from Saudi Arabia to study the opportunities of joint projects in this field, which is the main for national economies of both countries.
The appropriateness of regular business meetings and forums promoting establishment of close contacts between government and private structures was also highlighted. The Leader of the Nation said that advanced technologies and experience of leading Arab companies might be required in Turkmenistan implementing the projects for modernization of all branches of national economy.
