An event dedicated to the 300th anniversary of Magtymguly Fragi was held in Singapore

On March 20, 2024, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Turkmenistan to the Republic of Korea and the Republic of Singapore, B.Durdyev, as part of his planned working visit, gave a lecture on the topic “Turkmenistan in 2024, declared the Year of “Fount of Wisdom Magtymguly Fragi” to the teaching staff and students of the Singapore Institute of Management Development. This event was dedicated to the motto of this year, as well as the 300th anniversary of the birth of the great Turkmen poet and thinker Magtymguly Fragi. During the lecture, its participants were told about the life and work of Magtymguly.

The participants were also familiarized with the foreign and domestic policies of Turkmenistan, the dynamic economic development of the country, as well as changes being implemented in the field of education and youth policy. During his speech, the Ambassador spoke about the “smart” city of Arkadag built in our country.

Within the framework of the TURKSOY organization, it was noted that the ancient Turkmen city of Anau this year was declared the Cultural Capital of the Turkic World, and 2024 - “The Year of the Great Poet and Thinker of the Turkic World - Magtymguly Fragi.”

During the lecture, videos dedicated to the development of our state, as well as the anniversary of Magtymguly Fragi, were shown.

Particular attention at the lecture was paid to the development and prospects of Turkmen-Singapore relations.

At the end of the lecture, the Ambassador met with the President of the Institute Dr. Eric Quan. During the conversation, issues of cooperation between Turkmenistan and the Republic of Singapore in the field of education were discussed, including within the framework of the implementation of the Memorandum of Understanding signed in 2019 between the Turkmen State Institute of Economics and Management and the Singapore Institute of Management Development.
