An event was held in Beijing in honor of Magtymguly Fragi and the Novruz holiday

On March 20, 2024, the Embassy of Turkmenistan in the People's Republic of China held a reception in honor of the motto of 2024 - “Fount of Wisdom Magtymguly Fragi” and the 300th anniversary of the birth of the Great Turkmen poet, philosopher and thinker Magtymguly Fragi, as well as dedicated to the National Spring Day - International Novruz Day. The event was held with the active assistance of the Chinese Horse Industry Association. About this reports MFA of Turkmenistan.

The ceremony was attended by numerous guests, including ambassadors, diplomats, senior Chinese government officials, representatives of international, regional and non-governmental organizations, trade and industry associations, as well as representatives of public and private enterprises, Turkmen and Chinese youth.

In his speech, the Ambassador of Turkmenistan to China P.Durdyev emphasized the importance of this year’s motto, dedicated to the great poet Magtymguly Fragi. Taking this opportunity, the Ambassador of Turkmenistan spoke about the great socio-economic achievements under the leadership of the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov and the Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, and also emphasized the importance of implementing national programs for the socio-economic development of the country for 2022-2052 based on serious macro- and microeconomic achievements over the past few years.

Special Representative of the Chinese Government for Eurasian Affairs Li Hui also spoke at the event. In his speech, he noted that Magtymguly Fragi is an outstanding poet and thinker of Turkmenistan, his works are the spiritual heritage of humanity. He also expressed confidence that relations between China and Turkmenistan will continue to strengthen and reach new heights.

Guests were shown video materials about the famous Turkmen horses, carpets, musical instruments, dutar melodies, and the national dance “Kushtdepdi”, included in the UNESCO intangible heritage lists.
