The Office of the Ombudsman of Turkmenistan hosted a three-day seminar, organized in cooperation with the Office of the United Nations Population Fund.
The event was attended by representatives of the Social Policy Committee of the Mejlis of Turkmenistan, the Ministry of Health and Medical Industry, public organizations, as well as employees of the Ombudsman’s Office. The purpose of the seminar is to increase the capacity and knowledge of participants in the field of women's reproductive rights.
At the seminar, held with the participation of UNFPA international consultant Yanina Arsenyeva, a range of issues related to women’s reproductive rights, features of providing reproductive health services to people with disabilities, and compliance with international law by organizations and institutions when providing reproductive health services were discussed.
During the seminar, participants noted the positive experience and achievements of Turkmenistan in the field of protecting women's reproductive health and promoting gender equality. The event was another evidence of the successful implementation of the National Action Plan for Gender Equality for 2021-2025.
