The actors of the State Russian Drama Theater named after A.S. Pushkin prepared a good present for their young audience. Eduard Uspensky’s beloved characters Crocodile Gena and Cheburashka are featured in the play "The Abduction of Cheburashka" by Nikolay Zinchenko.

According to Zinchenko's version, Wolf kidnaps Cheburashka on Crocodile Gena's birthday in order to exchange him for ice cream. Of course, there are the cunning but charming Fox, who starts this intrigue, and the honest and fair Frog Totti, who helps to expose the kidnappers.

Young director Kyyat Gurbanov managed to present this story on stage very vividly. He was assisted by actors Maria Durdyeva (Cheburashka), Svyatoslav Lavin (Crocodile Gena), Alina Andronova (Frog Totti), Merdan Nurmukhamedov (Wolf), Anastasia Balandina (Fox), Lyubov Yemelyanova (Baba Yaga), Gulmukhammet Saryev (Ice Cream Seller), and Mikhail Kustodov (Uncle Stepa, a police officer from Sergei Mikhalkov's fairy tale).

The actors emphasized the charisma of their characters, giving each one a unique touch. The stage design, created by artist-director Vepa Annaberdyev, vividly portrayed the cheerful city landscapes against which the events unfolded.

The musical accompaniment, created by Begench Kakaev and Alina Andronova, added an interesting dimension to the performance. "The Abduction of Cheburashka" is the third play directed by Kyyat Gurbanov. His previous two plays, "Kolobok" and "One Spanish Night," were also highly successful.

" Despite the fact that I have little experience so far, I have noticed one pattern - if the play is liked by the director and the actors, success is guaranteed", Kyyat comments.

This kind fairy tale carries a significant moral message: it divides all the characters into positive and negative heroes, revealing in the end how prestigious it is to be good and how shameful it is to be bad. The characters of the play "The Abduction of Cheburashka" will soon meet the kids at the premiere show. Undoubtedly, the children will be delighted with this fairy tale.
