Representatives of the Office of the Ombudsman of Turkmenistan took part in a seminar dedicated to the protection of human rights in the digital environment. The event was organized by the Office of the Commissioner for Human Rights in the Russian Federation together with the Scientific and Educational Center for Human Rights of the O. Kutafin University.

Representatives of national human rights institutions from Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan and other countries of the Eurasian space also joined the discussions via video conference.

The seminar participants were welcomed by the first deputy head of the working apparatus of the Commissioner for Human Rights in the Russian Federation, Candidate of Legal Sciences I. Chechelnitsky and the head of the REC for Human Rights, Professor I. Dudko. During the seminar, speeches were heard on the topics: «Protection of human rights as a subject of personal data», «The right to freedom of speech and media security of Internet communications», «Criminal legal risks of users of mobile applications».

The seminar participants noted the relevance of the seminar's topics, as well as the importance of developing cooperation and sharing experience in educational activities in various areas of human rights between national human rights institutions.
