An exhibition of works by Turkmen artists has been opened at the exhibition centre of fine arts of the Ministry of Culture of Turkmenistan, which is dedicated to the national holiday Horse Day. In total, 125 paintings, graphic works, tapestries and sculptures are presented, which occupied the entire top floor of the centre.

Perhaps the most attention-grabbing painting was Ovgan Ovganov’s painting «Five White Horses». The snow-white horses running towards the viewer cannot help but enchant with their beauty and grace; this is exactly what the artist was counting on.

Snow-white horses are the most common heroes of the works at the exhibition. One of these paintings is «White Horse in the Moonlight» by Gutlymyrat Torayev.

An unusual painting by Jumamuhamet Jumaniyazov «Night Dance of Horses». The artist rendered a gold relief image of horses moving in the dark on a black background.

The work of Yhlas Allanazarov «Dangerous Meeting in the Mountains» is captivating in its anxiety. Of course, if a leopard and a horse meet in the mountains, one cannot expect a good outcome, and yet every viewer, moving on to other paintings, hopes for a miracle.

Nurmyrat Gurdov presented an interesting work, depicting a herd of horses. Moreover, the artist chose the perspective from above, which is why the heads of the horses, of course, turned out to be the same, but the poses and views of everyone are individual.

Jumping - jumping over an obstacle - is a rather rare topic that artists resort to. Meanwhile, at the Asian Games held in our country, the Turkmen team was awarded a gold medal in this sport. One of the paintings, which is called «Show Jumping», was exhibited by Larisa Fomina.

Sculptor Baygeldi Annamedov presented his exhibition, which competed with painting in terms of audience attention. Let us recall that the works of Baygeldi Annamedov created a sensation at the exhibition of Dashoguz artists, which was recently held in this center. Now the sculptor’s success has been repeated. His horses, as well as goitered gazelles, Tazy hunting dogs and the hunters themselves are beautiful. Baygeldi manages to create in a small composition of small sculptural forms the decisive moment of the hunt in realistic and at the same time fabulous shades.

Each of the works at the exhibition was performed at a high professional level and is worthy of a separate discussion about it. This testifies to the skill of our artists, as well as their admiration for the unsurpassed beauty of the Ahal-Teke horses.
