Today, the Aba Annayev International Academy of Horse Breeding hosted the XVI International Scientific Conference “Turkmen Horse and World Art of Horse Breeding”.
The traditional forum has become one of the solemn events timed to the national holiday of Turkmen horse, annually marked in our country on the last Sunday of April as a sign of respect for an incomparable beauty and playfulness of Akhal-Teke horses.
According to the generally accepted view of participants of the conference, "heavenly" horses are a unique cultural property of Turkmen people, who have brought a big contribution to the treasury of universal values.
As was marked in speeches, this phenomenal breed, the cradle of which was the fertile land of Akhal thousands of years ago, plays a huge role in development of world horse-breeding art.
According to historical data, one can find recollections of graceful, quick and very hardy racing horses from the earliest times in China, Greece, Italy in works of antique poets, philosophers and scientists - Gomer, Ptolemaeus, Strabo, Appian, Xenophon, Herodotus.
The Turkmen people have not only produced to the world a product of highest selection art, but have also preserved purity of the breed, continuously improving qualities of horses and gene pool.
Today, a wide experience of horse breeding art gained for centuries of cultivation, training of racing horses as fast as the wind enjoys a great demand in the world, and in all corners of the world they know, love and appreciate our Akhal-Teke horses.
In many respects, it is the result of efforts of the President of Turkmenistan to increase the number of the horse breed, to disseminate and popularise it abroad.
National horse breeders by continuing the noble work of our glorious ancestors, carry out a great deal of work to preserve purity of the breed and to increase the number of pure bred "paradise" racing horses, which by right have been recognised as the unsurpassed pearl of beauty and standard of perfection.
Super modern horse breeding centres, where all conditions for pedigree breeding are created, were built all over the country. The traditional national horse games and equestrian sports, including show jumping, which at the proposal of the Turkmen side was for the first time included in the program of the V Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games, which were held with tremendous success in Ashgabat in September 2017, are also developed actively.
In their speeches, speakers especially underlined that in revival of international recognition of Akhal-Teke horses a defining role belongs to the National Leader of the Turkmen people Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, thanks to whose support, horse breeding has found a worthy place in the life of the country.
Being a true expert and connoisseur of the Akhal-Teke breed, excellent equestrian and tireless popular writer of equestrian sport, Hero-Arkadag has devoted to "wonderful racing horses" separate books, among which is “Akhal-Teke horse - our pride and glory", "The Flight of Celestial Race Horses” and “Swift Step of Race Horse”, "A horse - a symbol of faithfulness and happiness” and others. Translated into many languages, they have become a property of international public, having played a significant role in rapid growth of interest in the Akhal-teke horse breed in the world.
The International Ahalteke Horse Breeding Association, which was established in 2010 and an active work of which enabled to attract the general attention to the phenomenon and significance of the Akhal-Teke breed as the brightest phenomenon of human civilisation, serves as an important platform for the professional dialogue of horse breeders from different countries.
Thus, today we witnesses a new uplift of glory of legendary Akhal-Teke horses, which were and remain to be a subject of special pride and inspiration, “wings of the soul” of Turkmen, their invaluable national property.
In the Era of Revival of the New Epoch of the Powerful State, legendary horses have become the main symbol of modern, dynamically developing Turkmenistan, live embodiment of indissoluble link of times and generations.
In the general opinion, thematic events held in the year “The Fount of Wisdom of Magtymguly Fragi” will have a great significance for familiarization widely with successes and achievements of our state in the sphere of horse breeding, mutual exchange of experience and expansion of productive cooperation with foreign colleagues both with associations and branch organisations and with private horse breeders.
Participants of the international conference adopted the letter of gratitude to the President of Turkmenistan.
