The football players of Ashgabat broke a five-match losing streak by defeating «Kopetdag» capital 2-0 in the away match of the 10^th round of the championship of Turkmenistan among the top league clubs.

The wards of Seyit Seyidov successfully started in the national championship. After the first three rounds, they were in the leading group. However, five defeats in a row followed, after which «Ashgabat» fell back to 7^th place in the standings.

The firstround match between «Ashgabat» and «Kopetdag», which took place on the territory of the Sports Complex in the Geneshlik Babarap of the Gokdepe etrap of the Ahal Velayat, ended in a goalless draw.

The fate of the return match was decided in the second half, when two unanswered balls flew into the goal of the team of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Turkmenistan. The goals were scored by Shatlyk Gurbanov (72^nd minute) and Hojanazar Gurbanov (83^rd).

After this game, «Ashgabat» scored 10 points and came close to sharing 5-6 places with Balkanabat’s «Nebichi» and Turkmenbashy’s «Shagadam» with 12 points. And «Kopetdag» remained on the eighth line of the standings with 5 points.

In another match, which took place in Mary, Ahal won 1-0 against local «Energetik». Akmammet Metdayev scored the winning goal in the 83^rd minute from the penalty spot. It was the second 11-meter free kick awarded to the home team in this game.

The first penalty in the 31^st minute could not be realized by Yazgylych Gurbanov. He hit the center of the goal, and goalkeeper Muhammet Ovezov managed to hit the ball.

After this victory, «Ahal» retains the third position in the national championship with 18 points, 6 points behind the leading «Arkadag». At the same time, the current national champion has played one less match.

Another match of the 10^th round in the city of Turkmenbashy between the local «Shagadam» and the capital «Altyn Asyr» was stopped in the 83^rd minute and underplayed with the score 2:0 in favour of the guests, in which Ahmet Atayev (13^th minute) and Vahit Orazsahedov (19^th) scored.

In the next round, «Ashgabat» – «Energetik», «Ahal» – «Merv», «Nebichi» – «Shagadam» and «Altyn Asyr» – «Arkadag» will play.
