An automated water flow metering system was launched on the banks of the Garagum Canal, this important waterway.

The launch was carried out by employees of the State Committee for Water Management of Turkmenistan together with the United States Agency for International Development.

The system was installed by the "Bosphorus" youth center together with the "Garagumderýasuwhojalyk" association. Being an effective tool, this system will allow for more accurate planning of water distribution for agriculture, drinking needs and industry. The data will be recorded in the software of this system and available in real-time.

Thanks to this data, the government will have a complete picture of the water consumed by farmers, and the ability to calculate the necessary amount for optimal growth of agricultural crops, while other water users will benefit from more stable and efficient water supply.
