The Ministry of Health of Turkmenistan and UNDP signed an agreement in the field of control of infectious diseases

The Ministry of Health and Medical Industry of Turkmenistan and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) signed an agreement for procurement of health products for the control of infectious diseases for 2024-2025.

The project is fully financed by the Government of Turkmenistan and demonstrates the country's commitment to strengthening the national healthcare system.

The goal of the project is to ensure universal and widespread access of the population of Turkmenistan to quality services for the control of tuberculosis and other infectious diseases through:

- Uninterrupted and high-quality supply of services for the treatment of TB, reproductive health, skin diseases, viral hepatitis C, HIV testing and safe blood transfusion;

- Capacity building of healthcare workers;

- Supporting a smooth transition for the TB project funded by the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria to full state financing by 2027, guaranteeing its quality, continuity and long-term sustainability.
