Filming is taking place in Turkmenistan for the show "Magic of Taste" for the Russian TV channel "My Planet".
The film crew, led by the show's host Anton Zaitsev, has already visited the culinary sights of Akhal velayat, visited Nokhur, the city of Mary, and Mary velayat.
A gastronomic journey to Balkan velayat is ahead, where guests will have the opportunity to taste Turkmen plov made with sturgeon and other national cuisine dishes.
Turkmen cuisine is renowned for its unique flavor and wide variety of dishes for every taste. Carefully preserving the age-old culinary traditions of the people, the methods of serving the rich dastarhan and the art of food presentation, Turkmen chefs prepare traditional dishes in their beautiful national attire, filling the air with the aromas of history and culture.
It is no surprise that, along with the peculiarities of Turkmen national cuisine, the film crew members noted the warm hospitality of our people. The hearty and relatively simple-to-prepare dishes made a pleasant impression on the show's host.
The menu offered to the guests included govurdak (meat stewed in melted butter), ishlekli (meat pie), gazanlama (meat cooked on hot coals), and, of course, dograma and yarma. The film crew also learned about the national customs, rituals and traditions of the Turkmen people.
One of the most "tasty" episodes about the peculiarities of Turkmen national cuisine will soon be shown on the TV channel "My Planet". New episodes of the program "Magic of Taste" air every Wednesday.
