A National Chamber of Lawyers will be established in Turkmenistan. This is envisaged by the Contribution Agreement to support the project "Increasing the Capacity of the Boards of Lawyers in Turkmenistan," which was signed by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and the British Embassy in Turkmenistan.

The establishment of the National Chamber of Lawyers will involve representing and protecting the interests of lawyers, coordinating the activities of the Boards of Lawyers across regions of Turkmenistan and Ashgabat, and ensuring high-quality legal assistance by lawyers.

Its powers will also include addressing issues affecting the interests of the legal community.

As part of the implementation of this initiative, UNDP will also assist in digitizing the operations of the Boards of Lawyers in Turkmenistan.
