Seminar on advancing cross-border paperless trade was held in Turkmenistan

The UN Resident Coordinator’s Office in Turkmenistan and the Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific held a two-day seminar in Ashgabat to advance cross-border paperless trade.

Participants discussed the implementation of initiatives to advance cross-border paperless trade.

Paperless trade involves the transition of information related to international cross-border trade into digital format, including the submission of trade data and documents, and the creation of conditions for their electronic exchange (White Paper on Paperless Trade).

The benefits of successful implementation of cross-border paperless trade are significant. In this regard, the Framework Agreement on Facilitation of Cross-Border Paperless Trade in Asia and the Pacific provides parties with promising opportunities for achieving joint progress.
