The delegation of Turkmenistan led by the Minister of Finance and Economy Serdar Jorayev is taking part in the 27th St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF-2024), which started on the 5th of June in the northern capital of Russia, with which Turkmenistan has had many years of fruitful cooperation. The main theme of this year's forum is formulated as «The basis of a multipolar world is the formation of new growth points». According to the organizers, the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum platform creates opportunities for discussions at the highest level, scaling ideas, solutions and initiatives to all spheres of public life and the activities of the states participating in its work.
The business program of SPIEF 2024 consists of 4 thematic tracks: «Transition to a multipolar model of the world economy», «Russian economy: goals and objectives of the new cycle», «Technologies that provide leadership» and «Healthy society, traditional values and social development - state priorities» «The program includes more than 150 thematic sessions, in which over 1000 moderators and speakers will take part».
Particular attention in the business program of SPIEF 2024 is paid to topics related to preserving the population, promoting health and improving the well-being of people, supporting families, creating opportunities for realizing the potential of each person, developing their talents, and nurturing a patriotic and socially responsible individual. On the final day of SPIEF 2024 on June 8, an international youth economic forum will be held, the motto of which will be «Future Day». Its program will include practice-oriented lectures, master classes and expert sessions on topics relevant to young people.
The forum is aimed at developing business ties and expanding contacts with trading partners from the CIS countries, the Arab world, India, China, the EAEU - ASEAN and Latin America. Members of the Turkmen delegation traditionally attend the plenary meeting of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum, which will take place on the 7th of June, 2024, and other multilateral events, and also hold bilateral meetings and negotiations with foreign partners at the forum.
