A seminar was held in Tallinn to exchange experiences between Turkmen and Estonian journalists

In the capital of Estonia in the first ten days of June a seminar was held on exchange of best practices in the field of media modernization and practices work of the press services, organized by the OSCE Center in Ashgabat.

Representatives of various media of Turkmenistan during a visit to Tallinn got acquainted with the activities of a number of Estonian media, press services various departments and public relations departments Parliament, foreign policy department, ministry education and research, ministries of social policy and the Ministry of Culture.

Particularly useful in terms of sharing experiences and practical methods work included meetings with employees of the media company Duo Media Networks OÜ and Delfi Meedia AS, as well as with editorial representatives Postimees publications.

Duo Media Networks OÜ includes seventeen TV channels and six radio stations. The company's flagship is Kanal 2 - one of the oldest private TV channels in Estonia. Despite the fact that the news portals began their work in 1999, today the total audience Delfi has about 700 thousand people, the portals are among the 10 most visited sites. The meeting of Turkmen journalists with employees of the oldest socio-political daily newspaper “Postimees” (“Postimees” – “Postman”), which was founded in 1857. Coverage of pressing issues of the Estonian people and the embodiment of their hopes and aspirations in the printed word provided the newspaper with great popularity. According to the Union newspapers in Estonia on weekdays the newspaper has the highest circulation in Baltics.

No less exciting and useful in terms of sharing practical experience included meetings with employees and journalists from public relations departments of various ministries and departments of Estonia. Journalists from Turkmenistan had the most pleasant impressions of exploring the sights of Tallinn, with its unique and amazing architecture, and most importantly from meetings and communication on the city streets with ordinary Estonians who showed special kindness and hospitality.
