Turkmenistan is working on implementation of the "One Health" concept, which represents a comprehensive, unified approach aimed at sustainably balancing and optimizing the health of humans, animals and ecosystems.
In this regard, the first meeting of the National Intersectoral Coordination Committee on the implementation of the "One Health" approach was held in Ashgabat.
For the effective implementation of the "One Health" approach in Turkmenistan, National Coordinators have been appointed from the Ministry of Health and Medical Industry of Turkmenistan, the State Veterinary Service under the Ministry of Agriculture of Turkmenistan, and the Ministry of Environmental Protection of Turkmenistan. The establishment of the Committee underscores Turkmenistan's commitment to promoting a holistic approach to health and sustainable development.
"One Health" is a comprehensive, unifying approach aimed at achieving optimal levels of human, animal and ecosystem health and ensuring a sustainable balance between these three components. This approach, based on the close interdependence between these areas, is used to develop new methods of surveillance and disease control.
