Exhibition of recycled crafts was held in Ashgabat

The French Institute in Ashgabat hosted an exhibition of recycled crafts, dedicated to the World Environment Day.

The exhibition-competition, organized by the "Ýaş tebigatçy" ("Young Naturalist") Public Organization and the "Design Plus" Creative Association, brought together more than 40 participants. Enthusiasts from all over Turkmenistan sent their creative crafts to the competition.

"Making crafts from recycled materials is an important part of the aesthetic and environmental education of youth," says Tajigul Gurbanova, head of the "Design Plus" initiative group.

"Many diverse creative works were submitted to the competition, so we divided the exhibition into several halls. One featured works by preschoolers and teenagers, another displayed handmade crafts by amateur craftsmen. The third section of the exhibition, dedicated to ethnic culture, showcased the best crafts in the national style."

The criteria for evaluating the works included originality of idea, technical execution, aesthetic impact, and use of recycled materials.

However, according to the organizers and jury, the recycled crafts competition not only demonstrated the participants' amazing creativity but also highlighted the importance of sustainable resource use and waste recycling. Therefore, all participants were awarded certificates and incentive prizes.

Visitors to the exhibition showed interest in the unusual items created from waste materials and gave positive feedback on each exhibit.
