At the invitation of the President of the International Olympic Committee, Turkmen athletes will participate in four sports disciplines - judo, weightlifting, swimming and athletics - at the XXXIII Summer Olympic Games, which will be held in Paris from July 26 to August 11 this year. This was announced at the meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan on Friday by Vice-Premier B. Orazdurdyeva, who oversees the sports sector, reporting on the preparation of our country's national team for the global-scale competitions.

It was noted that work is currently underway to organize the dispatch of our country's sports delegation to France, consisting of 19 people.

Specifically, it was reported that a send-off ceremony for the Turkmenistan national team is planned to be held on July 22 at the Sport Hotel in the capital's Olympic village, with the participation of representatives from public associations, national Olympic and Paralympic committees, heads of the country's sports federations and student youth.

In this context, a number of proposals were presented to the head of state regarding the upcoming important event.

After hearing the report, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov emphasized that great importance is attached to the development of mass sports and physical culture in our country.

The head of state noted that Turkmenistan has accumulated extensive experience in developing the sports sphere both domestically and internationally, stating that our athletes regularly participate in international competitions of various levels and win prizes.

In this regard, the President of Turkmenistan ordered to ensure a high organizational level for the send-off ceremony of the national team, which will participate in the XXXIII Summer Olympic Games in the capital of France.
