The branch of the Centralized Library System of the Ashgabat Cultural Administration in Choganly organized a quiz competition on the theme "Journey into the World of Interesting Fairy Tales" among children staying at the "Ýaşlyk" children's health center.

Library staff who spoke at the event noted that great attention is paid in our country to the intellectual and physical development of the younger generation, their upbringing based on national values and traditions. In this, fairy tales play a significant role as an engaging part of oral folk art and national heritage. Folk tales mock such negative character traits and human habits as laziness, greed, cowardice, stinginess, disrespect for elders, stupidity and others.

At the same time, folk tales glorify the wit, resourcefulness, courage, generosity, justice of the heroes, and tell of the triumph of good over evil. Fairy tales reflect the history, culture, customs and traditions of the people. During the event, a competition was held among the children staying at the health center on their knowledge of Turkmen folk tales. As a result, the most active students, who provided the most correct answers to the questions based on Turkmen fairy tales, were recognized and thanked.
