The women's team of Turkmenistan won the fourth victory at the 45th World Chess Olympiad taking place in Budapest.
In the 6th round, Turkmen chess players with an average rating 1956, beat 43rd seed Brazil (average rating – 2132) with a score of 3:1. Significant contribution to victory our team was contributed by Leila Shohradova (3rd board) and who played for the 4th board was Enesh Arazmedova, who won their games. And vice-champion Lala Shohradova (1st board) and national champion Meryem Agadzhanova (2nd board) played a draw with her opponents. In the 6th round, Jahan Rejepova, who usually plays for the 4th round, rested board.
Previously, our compatriots won with the same score 4:0 against chess players of Chad (seeded 168th), Bahamas (seeded 122), Guatemala (seeded 106) and lost to representatives of Slovakia (seeded 32nd) – 1.5:2.5 and the Czech Republic (seeded 41st) – 1:3.

As a GA correspondent was told in the Chess Federation Turkmenistan, in the women's tournament for the Olympics 183 teams registered, but the fight for medals entered 169. In addition to the main overall standings, they are divided into five categories depending on the average rating of team members. Turkmen women's team, seeded 73rd overall standings, fell into category “C”. Our chess players so far demonstrate the best results in their category, ranking after the 6th round with 8 points out of 12 possible 36th place overall tournament standings.
Let us note that our team has a 100% result so far has the winner of 5th place at this year’s national championship – 17-year-old Enesh Arazmedova, who has 4 wins in 4 games.
In the 7th round, Turkmen chess players will have to fight with seeded 29th number of the Cuban national team, which is in 39th place and has an average rating of 2215.
Overall, the Indian team is leading the tournament in the women's section (average rating - 2467), which has won all 6 matches so far and has 12 points. She is 1 point behind the traditionally strong women's team chess, Georgia and Poland, which closes the top three.
In the men's tournament, 197 teams registered for the Olympics, however, representatives of 187 sat down at the chessboards.

Turkmenistan men's team (average rating - 2332) so far demonstrates more modest results, ranking from 6 team points out of 12 possible 84th place. In the first six tours to our guys, also seeded 73rd number, but those who fell into the stronger category “B” received either rather weak opponents whom they beat without much efforts (Bahamas - 4:0, Brunei - 4:0 and Cyprus - 3:1), or very strong ones who could not be defeated (Lithuania – 0.5:3.5, Austria – 1:3 and Switzerland – 0.5:3.5).
In the 7th round, Turkmen chess players will play with the 105th seed number of the Jamaican national team, which is in 106th place with 6 points.
Turkmenistan is represented in the men's tournament: international master Saparmurat Atabaev (1st board), grandmaster Meilis Annaberdiev (2nd board), 18-year-old Amanmuhammet Khommadov (3rd board), current national champion Allayar Shirliev (4th board) and reserve player Vepaly Khalyniyazov.
Among the men, the Indian team is also in the lead, and has not yet lost any points.
With a one-point gap, it is pursued by the teams of Vietnam and China and Iran, with 11 points each. Chess Olympiad will last until September 22. Let us remind you that this year the Turkmenistan national team is represented at major world chess competitions after a 6-year break.
