The «Arkadag» footballers made the treble for the first time. In addition to the gold medals of the national championship and the Super Cup, they added the Turkmenistan Cup, winning the final with a score of 1:0 over the vice-champion of the country and two-time participant of the Champions League AFC «Ahal».

The game took place in the central arena of the multifunctional stadium «Ashgabat».

For Ahal, which has already won the second most important club trophy four times, this was the eighth final in the history of the tournament. And for FC «Arkadag», formed in April 2023, it was the second.

On the way to the final, «Ahal» won against «Kopetdag» (2:1 at home and 3:3 away) and twice won a technical victory with a score of 3:0 over «Altyn Asyr». And «Arkadag» defeated Turkmenbashy’s «Shagadam» in the quarterfinals (3:0 at home and 3:1 on the opponent’s field), and in the semifinals they crushed Balkanabat’s «Nebitchi» (7:2 away and 5:2 at home).

Before the cup game, «Arkadag» and «Ahal» had played each other five times this season. And «Arkadag» won all five matches: 4:1, 4:0, 5:1, 2:1 – in the Turkmenistan Championship and 3:1 – in the match for the country's Super Cup.

The final match of the 2024 Turkmenistan Cup was a tough fight. Its fate was decided by the only goal scored at the end of the first half. In the 45th minute, Begmyrat Bayov successfully moved along the left side, from where he gave a magnificent pass to Begench Akmammedov, who from within the penalty area shot an unstoppable shot at the goal.

Having brought the match to victory, the «Arkadag» footballers won their third trophy this season. The team representing the city of the same name of national importance was led to this success by the 44-year-old famous former striker of the Turkmenistan national team, winner of the 2003/04 Russian Cup with Terek Grozny and the 2013 AFC President's Cup with Balkan Vladimir Bayramov as head coach.
