Representatives of Turkmenistan took part in a seminar on promotion of universities in international QS and THE rankings

Professors, teachers and students of universities of Turkmenistan took part remotely in a seminar on the topic “Ways to participate higher educational institutions in international QS rankings and THE”, held at the State University of Uzbek language and literature named after Alisher Navoi of the city of Tashkent. The seminar was organized in a hybrid format within the framework of European Union Erasmus+ program in cooperation with Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovation Uzbekistan.

Event with the participation of representatives of higher education institutions from around the world focused on studying opportunities and ways to include universities in world rankings. During the seminar, Turkmen representatives shared their experience in this field and identified new directions cooperation to improve the positions of universities in international ratings.

International experts, including program representatives Erasmus+ in Uzbekistan, heads of the higher education system education, as well as specialists from universities that have taken positions in international ratings, spoke in detail about the ways in creasing the activity of universities to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals UN development and the positive impact of including universities in QS and THE ratings.

The participants’ speeches emphasized the role of international cooperation in the field of higher education to expand opportunities for participation and promotion of universities in international rating tables. The importance of world university rankings, their indicators and evaluation criteria, ranking system, as well as effective measures to improve quality of education in universities.

Following the meeting, Turkmen representatives studied advanced experience of foreign colleagues, and also outlined specific goals for

improving the quality of education and the results of universities’ participation in international ratings. In addition, holding a seminar has opened the way for new initiatives and projects that will have an impact positive impact on the further development of the system education.

This seminar was part of the technical assistance program European Union (TAM), aimed at providing recommendations and support for quality modernization education in universities. Through this program, TAM strives implement the assigned tasks through various events, seminars, conferences and meetings.
