Teachers and students from the Yagshygeldi Kakayev International University of Oil and Gas participated in the Water, Energy, Technology, and Environment Exhibition (WETEX 2024), which took place at the Dubai World Trade Centre in Dubai, UAE, from October 1 to 3.

WETEX 2024 brought together about 2,600 companies from 62 countries around the world. The exhibition showcased projects in solar, wind and hydrogen energy, modern technologies implemented in the oil and gas industry, samples of the latest water processing and purification technologies, as well as innovative solutions ensuring sustainable development and environmental protection.

The Turkmen delegates demonstrated a technology that converts wind energy into electricity, a model of which was prepared by university representatives and exhibited in the pavilion of the oil and gas company Dragon Oil. A continuous video presentation about the development by the Turkmen university was also organized there.

It is noteworthy that this project is one of the productive results of joint activities between the Yagshygeldi Kakayev International University of Oil and Gas, the state concern Turkmennebit, and Dragon Oil (Turkmenistan) Ltd. This collaboration has been successfully conducted based on a cooperation agreement in science and education signed by the participants on June 7, 2022.

Under this agreement, teachers and students from Yagshygeldi Kakayev University developed a scientifically grounded innovative technology in wind energy for producing electricity from renewable sources and prepared its model. In collaboration with Dragon Oil (Turkmenistan) Ltd., this development is planned to be implemented in production on the Caspian Sea coast.

During the exhibition, Turkmen delegates participated in a seminar organized by Dragon Oil dedicated to the future of energy, new technologies in the oil and gas industry, reducing methane emissions into the atmosphere, and environmental issues related to oil waste.

The participation of teachers and students from Yagshygeldi Kakayev International University of Oil and Gas in WETEX 2024 and its events allowed them to gain valuable knowledge, enrich their professional experience, and assess the potential of innovative technologies in renewable and alternative energy sources, green energy, showcased by participants from different countries around the world.

The visit of representatives from Turkmenistan's Oil and Gas university to the UAE is taking place from September 30 to October 4.
