The forum “Youth for a Sustainable Future in Central Asia” dedicated to developing strategies to prevent violent extremism in the region has opened in Almaty. The event brought together participants from all five Central Asian countries, including Turkmenistan.

The forum is organized as part of a regional initiative of the United Nations Development Programme with financial support from the Government of Japan. It aims to promote the formation of resilient communities as a way to combat violent extremism in Central Asia. The forum “Youth for a Sustainable Future in Central Asia” became a platform for discussing ways to empower youth, emphasizing the importance of initiatives to enhance the development of new skills.

The main session of the forum was devoted to youth employment as an important strategy for preventing violent extremism. Participants also discussed the assistance of NGO and the private sector in the development of youth entrepreneurship and employment.
