The Yagshygeldi Kakayev International University of Oil and Gas hosted the International Scientific and Practical Online Conference, titled "Prospects for Innovative Technologies in Chemistry and Gas Chemistry".

The forum brought together professors, teachers, scientists, postgraduate students, and students from 34 higher education institutions in Turkmenistan and abroad. It also included specialists from nine domestic industry enterprises and leading global companies such as Petronas Carigali (Turkmenistan) Sdn Bhd, Dragon Oil (Turkmenistan) Ltd., Eni Turkmenistan Limited, and the China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC).

In total, representatives from 18 countries participated, including Turkmenistan, Russia, Belarus, Romania, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Azerbaijan, Iran, Georgia, Armenia, China, Turkey, Qatar, the UAE, Germany and the UK.

The conference was opened with a welcome address by Bayrammyrat Atamanov, the rector of the Yagshygeldi Kakayev International University of Oil and Gas.

The conference included a plenary session and three thematic sections: "Directions for the Development of the Chemical Industry," "Innovative Technologies in the Gas Chemical Industry," and "Economic and Environmental Issues of the Chemical and Gas Industry."

During the forum, more than 90 scientific reports were presented by professors and students from domestic and foreign universities as well as industry specialists. Through digital video communication, representatives from prestigious foreign universities sent their best wishes to conference participants, emphasizing the high level of preparation and organization of the international conference.

There were presentations focused on research activities at specialized universities and industry enterprises. Scientific works were presented to attendees, followed by joint discussions and exchanges of opinions.

The conference participants were impressed by speeches of students, young scientists, professors and university teachers on trends in chemistry development, innovations in the gas chemical industry, integration of digital systems into industry, economic development challenges, environmental issues, and other relevant scientific topics.

The organization and conduct of this major international forum contributed to achieving goals set out in the "Strategy for International Cooperation of Turkmen Youth for 2023-2030," the State Program "Comprehensive Development of Chemical Science and Technology in Turkmenistan for 2021-2025," and several educational system concepts adopted in Turkmenistan.

In this context, the activities of universities in the country, particularly at Yagshygeldi Kakayev International University of Oil and Gas, are aimed at forming a scientifically educated generation with broad thinking skills. They focus on attracting talented students to science and preparing high-level professionals by integrating innovations into the scientific-educational system. Additionally, they aim to establish connections with leading foreign universities for experience exchange to apply modern methods for specialist training and elevate the education system to global standards.
