The second day of the 17th International Exhibition and Scientific Conference «Türkmentel - 2024» became a key event for the telecommunications industry in Turkmenistan. Hundreds of experts, representatives of government agencies and leading global companies gathered to discuss the latest achievements and development prospects of the industry.
Huawei representative Pavel Sirotinkin shared key projects and vision for the future of digitalisation in the country.
– Huawei has been operating in Turkmenistan for over two decades and has established itself as an important technology partner during this time. Among the company’s key ongoing projects are joint initiatives with TM Cell and Türkmentelekom, as well as with other clients in the region.
Sirotinkin also highlighted the introduction of home Internet based on GPON technology and the construction of high-speed optical networks connecting the country's regions as one of the priority areas. These solutions contribute to the development of communications infrastructure and the modernisation of mobile networks using 4G and 4G+ technologies.
Huawei is considering the possibility of creating its own data centres and introducing cloud services for Turkmenistan. Such projects are at the discussion stage, but have high potential for the development of the country's digital infrastructure. Pavel Sirotinkin emphasised that this area can significantly strengthen Turkmenistan's position in technological terms, providing access to modern IT solutions.
The specialist also emphasised the importance of 5G as a technology not only for providing high-speed communications, but also for the implementation of precise positioning and wide opportunities for digitalization of various industries. This is especially relevant for transport and production, which can receive a new impetus for modernisation and improvement of production processes.
«Türkmentel - 2024» is distinguished by a high level of organisation and attracts key global manufacturers of equipment and solutions. An important feature of the exhibition was the wide representation of regional operators, including companies from Azerbaijan and other countries in the region. This provides a convenient platform for discussing joint plans and projects adapted to regional characteristics and needs.
Sirotinkin is in Turkmenistan for the first time, he was impressed by the beauty and architectural appearance of Ashgabat. The city, according to him, stands out for its unity of style and the width of its streets, and the hospitality left the most pleasant impressions. «I am greeted everywhere, introduced to the capital» –he shared with a smile, noting the hospitality and care of Ashgabat residents.
Huawei continues to actively develop the digital infrastructure of Turkmenistan, implementing innovative projects and offering promising solutions. Participation in the «Türkmentel - 2024» exhibition emphasises the company's intention not only to strengthen existing cooperation, but also to create new opportunities for the digitalisation of the country.
