The State Energy Institute of Turkmenistan hosted an international regional conference on the theme "Development of green Energy in Central Asia: challenges and opportunities", organized by the Ashgabat Center of the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe with the support of the Government of Turkmenistan.
In an international forum held in a hybrid format from 14 on November 15, representatives of the Ministry of Energy of Turkmenistan, the Ministry of Environmental Protection of Turkmenistan, the State Concern Turkmengaz took part, International University of Oil and Gas named after Jagshygeldi Kakaev, as well as international experts and specialists from Germany, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan.
During the conference, a number of scientific reports were heard on such topics as "Best regional practices for the development of green energy"; "Renewable energy sources in the production of green energy: opportunities and challenges"; "Green hydrogen is the fuel of the future"; "Climate change and green energy"; "The impact of hydrogen on ecology and the environment"; "Green energy: solar thermal systems"; "Resource potential of solar energy" and others.
As part of the events of the international conference, an exhibition of scientific works by members of the University Council of young scientists, teachers and students of the Energy Institute was organized in the lobby of the main building of the Institute.
The international regional conference was held in order to improve the professional level of representatives of the teaching staff, young scientists, researchers of the university, to study world experience in the field of green energy development, to successfully implement planned activities in this area, as well as to implement the tasks set out in the concepts adopted in the education system Turkmenistan.
The conference was held within the framework of the joint agreed action plans of Turkmenistan and the OSCE for 2024.
