Turkmenistan took part in the preparation and adoption of the Plan for Humanitarian Cooperation in the CIS for 2025–2026

On the 12th of December, a meeting of the Council of Heads of Government of the Commonwealth of Independent States was held in Moscow, at which Turkmenistan was represented by the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Turkmenistan to the Republic of Belarus, Permanent Plenipotentiary Representative of Turkmenistan to the statutory and other bodies of the CIS Nazarguly Shagulyyev.

Following the meeting, a number of documents were signed, including the Plan of Priority Activities in the Sphere of Humanitarian Cooperation of the CIS Member States for 2025–2026.

According to the press service of the CIS Executive Committee, the Plan is intended to coordinate and develop multilateral cooperation in the areas of education, science, culture, information and mass communications, book publishing, book distribution and printing, in the field of sports and healthy lifestyles, tourism, and work with youth.

The document was prepared based on proposals from Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, the Secretariat of the CIS IPA Council, the Council for Cooperation in Education, the Council for Cooperation in Fundamental Science, the Interstate Council for Cooperation in Periodical Press, Book Publishing, Book Distribution and Printing, the Council for Humanitarian Cooperation and the Interstate Fund for Humanitarian Cooperation. The 10 sections of the plan include more than 200 events. The topics of the events were developed taking into account the decision taken by the leaders of the Commonwealth states to declare 2025 in the CIS the Year of the 80th Anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War - the Year of Peace and Unity in the Fight against Nazism, and 2026 - the Year of Health.
