In the year held under the motto «Fount of the Wisdom Magtymguly Fragi», the number of foreign guests arriving in the region through tourism has increased among the visitors of the Dashoguz Museum of History and Local Lore.

- This is one of the results of successful cooperation of our museum with travel agencies of the country, - says the research fellow of the museum, art critic Batyr Uzakberdiyev. As is known, currently in our country the sphere of tourism is developing rapidly. Important factors of this are natural resources of the country, ancient and rich history and culture of the Turkmen people, its national traditions and unique customs. Active cooperation of travel agencies with museums not only opens up new opportunities for them in the development of their activities, but also contributes to the popularization of the rich national heritage. We, in turn, organise excursions to our exhibition halls for guests, strive to acquaint visitors with museum exhibits as fully as possible, to reveal all their significance and value. We, the employees, are pleased that many guests are acquainted with the museums of Turkmenistan through the Internet, including the website «virtualmuseum.gov.tm».

This confirms the great interest of the world community in our national heritage, in archaeological and natural attractions, rich traditions and customs of the Turkmen people, and their current large-scale achievements.

Today, the funds of the Dashoguz Velayat Historical and Local History Museum, where the hall of temporary exhibitions, archaeological and ethnographic, nature and fine arts, as well as exhibitions telling about the current achievements and new buildings of the velayat, are constantly open, contain thousands of exhibits related to the history, culture and art of the Turkmen people.
