According to the results of the new edition of the international university ranking UI GreenMetric University of Engineering and Technology of Turkmenistan named after Oguz Khan took the 328th place, rising by 104 positions compared to last year.
The result of universities in the ranking is determined based on the points scored on six indicators of their sustainability: Infrastructure and buildings; Energy and climate change; Waste management; Water resources management; Environmentally friendly transport; Education and scientific research. According to these indicators, in total, Engineering and Technology the University of Turkmenistan named after Oguz Khan scored 7,400 points, which significantly improved its position in the ranking.
UI GreenMetric is an annual international ranking of universities reflecting their efforts to reduce their environmental footprint, as well as towards education and research in the field of sustainable development. The rating was launched in 2010 by the University Indonesia to promote sustainability in higher education institutions and enable comparisons between them. Since then, the number of participants has grown, and the assessment methodology has been improved by based on feedback from participating universities.
The Oguz Khan University of Engineering and Technology of Turkmenistan demonstrates a responsible approach to achieving the goals of sustainable development and environmental safety. In order to solve these problems, scientific research, educational campaigns, educational and other events are regularly conducted at the university.
