A meeting of the Deputy Minister of Education was held in Ashgabat Turkmenistan's A.Atayeva with a delegation led by Mr. Zhao Xu, Deputy Chairman of the Office of Foreign Affairs of Gansu Province of the People's Republic of China.
The main purpose of the meeting was to discuss proposals aimed at enhancing relations in the field of education with Gansu Province of China.
The Turkmen side informed the guests about the work done to continuously improve the quality of education in the country in accordance with with the best international practices. Attention was also paid to the upcoming tasks, including those related to the expansion of cooperation with China.
Mr. Zhao Xun, in turn, spoke in detail about the universities of Gansu province and the support provided to foreign students studying there, including students from Turkmenistan. In addition, he proudly noted that since 2020, the Lanzhou University of Gansu Province has been operating a Research Center for Turkmen Studies, and the Jiatong University has a Center for Turkmen Culture.
The parties further discussed plans for cooperation, in particular, the possibility of obtaining scholarships in priority professions for Turkmen students, establishing effective links between universities specializing in oil and gas, medicine, engineering technology, as well as joint training programs for advanced training.
In order to implement the proposals considered in stages, the participants agreed on the joint preparation of a Roadmap and the organization of further meetings in the Round Table format.
