"Technologies for the production of bitumen emulsion from local raw materials", project which developed in the Laboratory of Technology of Alternative Energy Sources and Measuring Instruments of the International Scientific and Technological Park of the Academy of Sciences of Turkmenistan, received from the State Service for Intellectual Property of the Ministry of Finance and Economy of Turkmenistan a certificate of the author’s right for the development.

The authors of the development work – Candidate of Technical Sciences, head of the laboratory M. Khudaiberdiev, scientific specialists D. Gadamov and A. Pirmedov – conducted comprehensive scientific and experimental work. The results were published in a scientific article that includes an analysis of five experiments that fully complying with regulatory documents.

During the research, a bitumen emulsion with a unique composition was developed: 40% bitumen, 48.8% water, 10% solvent, 0.6% hydrochloric acid and 0.6% emulsifier.

Previously, bitumen emulsions, partially imported from abroad, were used for road construction and road repairs in Turkmenistan. The new technology proposed by Turkmen scientists makes it possible to produce high-quality bitumen emulsion from local raw materials, which will significantly reduce the country's dependence on foreign supplies and open up new prospects for domestic road construction.

The advantages of the new bitumen emulsion include effective bonding of layers, filling cracks and successful use for repairing pits on asphalt roads. In addition, bitumen emulsion serves as a binder in the production of asphalt concrete, which helps to improve the quality of road surfaces.
