A conference on the role of women in society was held at the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.

The event, timed to coincide with International Women's Day, was organized by the Delegation of the European Union to Turkmenistan and the Institute of State, Law and Democracy of Turkmenistan.

The event involved teams from the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan and the International University for the Humanities and Development of Turkmenistan. In the academic competition among universities on the discussed issues, the team from the Institute of International Relations demonstrated the best results. This form of educational process provided students with the opportunity to develop analytical thinking and improve public speaking skills.

Among the conference guests were Beata Peksa, Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the European Union to Turkmenistan, representatives of the Institute of State, Law and Democracy of Turkmenistan, the Office of the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, and the head of the UN Population Fund Country Office.
