The United Nations Development Program (UNDP) and the U.S. Embassy in Turkmenistan, with the support of the Turkmen Ministry of Foreign Affairs, held the second coordination meeting of the Working Group on Sustainable Economics and Finance (SEF) in Ashgabat.
The participants of the meeting – representatives of the relevant ministries of Turkmenistan, employees of diplomatic missions accredited in our country, got acquainted with the current and planned initiatives of SEF. The need to find ways to promote sustainable economic and financial development of Turkmenistan through cooperation and open dialogue was noted.
In this context, the importance of the "Program for Socio-economic development of Turkmenistan and investments in 2025", initiatives related to joining the World Trade Organization (WTO), as well as the conclusions of the UN Country Analysis was emphasized.
The Working Group on Sustainable Economics and Finance, established within the framework of the Development Partners Coordination Group (DPCG), seeks to enhance the effectiveness of international organizations and diplomatic missions in the field of finance and economics by promoting closer cooperation with the Government of Turkmenistan to achieve the common goals of the country's economic growth.
The working group holds regular meetings to create an effective platform to improve coordination of activities, exchange and increase knowledge, strengthen cooperation in the field of economics and finance.
