Silk winding production association: work raised to the level of art

The silk industry is one of the leading sectors of Turkmenistan and plays a special role in the development of the national economy. One of the largest enterprises in the industry is the Turkmenabat Silk Winding Production Association, established back in 1931.

The reconstruction of this enterprise, which has a wealth of experience over the years of independence, the introduction of modern cocoon processing technologies into production, as well as the search for new methods and types of production contribute to a significant expansion of the association's scope of activities. The results achieved by the enterprise in the first two months of this year testify to the organized approach to work here.

During this time, the enterprise produced more than 16 tons of raw silk, which means an increase in production by more than 147 percent compared to the same period last year. Also, since the beginning of the year, the enterprise has produced one million 114 thousand square meters of cotton material, fulfilling the plan by more than 133 percent, producing 24 thousand square meters of silk material.

The production association includes cocoon winding, spinning and weaving, dyeing, and consumer goods manufacturing workshops. Here, cocoons are processed and silk products are manufactured.

It should be noted that the production association, where more than 900 specialists work, also produces wonderful silk carpets. The carpet weaving shop of the enterprise produces bags, car mats and souvenir carpets, which are in great demand among the population.

It is worth to say that the team of the Turkmenabat Silk Winding Production Association will worthily meet with its labor achievements the celebrations dedicated to the 30th anniversary of Turkmenistan’s permanent neutrality.
