«Peace and trust - a reliable basis for maintaining environmental well-being on the planet» - this was the name of the international conference held on the 27th of March, 2025 at the Institute of Chemistry of the Academy of Sciences of Turkmenistan.
The forum, held online, was dedicated to the motto of the year: «International Year of Peace and Trust» and the 30th anniversary of the country's permanent neutrality. Among its participants were heads, researchers, teachers, engineers and specialists of research institutions of the AST and universities of Turkmenistan, postgraduate students, doctoral students and applicants for the degrees of candidate and doctor of science, representatives of foreign companies operating in our country. Their foreign partners and colleagues joined the discussions via the digital system.
The plenary session opened with a speech by the director of the Institute of Chemistry of the AST, candidate of chemical sciences Hallymyrat Atayev. As noted, holding an international scientific and practical conference contributes to the creation of broad opportunities for the exchange of views of Turkmen scientists with foreign colleagues, joint scientific work, and solving practical problems.
Also, reports were heard from a specialist of the «Intelion Energy Group Limited» company Anton Kreventsov (Great Britain), chief researcher of the Institute of General and Inorganic Chemistry of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Uzbekistan Umarbek Alimov, director of the «Tokyo Boeki Eurasia» company Keiji Takigawa (Japan), head of the Decarbonisation and Environmental Protection Department of the French company «Buig Türkmen» Mammet Fataliyev, head of the branch in Turkmenistan of the Russian company «Tatneft» named after V.D. Shashkin Evgeniy Mihailov and others.
The forum continued its work in three sections: «Green Technologies», «Industrial Chemistry and Ecology», «Chemistry and Ecology of Surface and Stratified Waters of Oil and Gas Fields».
The agenda included such topics as «Assessment of the Possibilities of Lithium Extraction from Hydromineral Resources of Turkmenistan», «The Role of Natural Dyes in Green Chemistry», «Technology for Obtaining Granulated Organic Fertilisers Based on Organic Resources of Plant Origin», «The Ecological Significance of Using Alkaline Waste in Oil Refining», «Possibilities of Producing Cosmetic Products from Ozokerite - Local Raw Materials in Turkmenistan», etc.
The reports touched upon current development trends in various fields of knowledge. The participants shared the results of their research, presented a vision of ways for cooperation and joint activities, and relevant proposals were voiced in this context. Having expressed deep gratitude to President Serdar Berdimuhamedov, as well as Hero Arkadag for their comprehensive support of scientific activities, the conference participants emphasised the innovative nature of the large-scale reforms being implemented in Turkmenistan in the scientific sphere and spoke in favour of further development of mutually beneficial partnership.
