The three-day international seminar on developing the strategy of the information and explanatory work among population on the harm of drugs closed in Ashgabat. The seminar held within the framework of the Central Asia Drug Action Programme (CADAP), MEDISSA Component funded by the EU brought together the representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, the State Service of Turkmenistan for Drugs, the Ministry of Health and Medical Industry of Turkmenistan, the Ministry of Education of Turkmenistan, the Ministry of Culture of Turkmenistan, as well as international and public organisations, and journalists.
The seminar agenda included a number of issues on developing agreed and coordinated efforts of all countries of the Central Asian region in the struggle against illicit drug traffic. According to Coordinator of Europa House in Turkmenistan, Mr. Theo Hensels, our country significantly contributes to strengthening peace and security in the region. It was underlined that it was proved by election of our country to the membership of several UN authoritative agencies, including the UN Commission on drugs and crime for 2012-2015.
The key regulations for integration of the information services of the Central Asian region in developing and implementing the strategy and plan of actions against drugs were drafted during the seminar.
