The rich flora and fauna of Turkmenistan, including birds, form the basis of our national wealth. In discussing this topic, it is pleasant to note that intensive work is being carried out in our country to protect and study sedentary and seasonal birds.

Birds are a symbol of peaceful life, an adornment of a peaceful sky. The fact that the name of the event related to birds in the International Year of Peace and Trust coincides with the slogan of our wonderful year determines its important and profound content.

On the eve of World Bird Day, which is celebrated annually on April 1, holding various events in our country, in which representatives of different ages, including the younger generation, take part, is of particular importance for fostering love for our beautiful nature and the world of birds. Therefore, in honor of World Bird Day, the Lebap Velayat Council of the Youth Organization of Turkmenistan named after Magtymguly, the Velayat Historical and Local Lore Museum and the velayat branch of the Nature Conservation Society announced a children's art competition "Bird Singing - a Sign of Peace" among 15-17 year old students of children's art schools in the region.

About 80 works of painting, graphics and tapestries were presented and an exhibition was organized for the competition, which was held with the aim of educating patriotism in the younger generation, strengthening their unity with nature, increasing environmental literacy, and identifying talented young artists. The organizer of the exhibition, demonstrating the diversity and beauty of the bird world, was the velayat branch of the Nature Conservation Society.

The paintings, both in combination with our beautiful nature and separately about birds, demonstrated the growing level of observation and maturity of young artists. According to the results of the competition, a student of the Children's Art School of the city of Farap of the Charjev etrap Merjen Zarafshanova took 1st place, a 4th grade student of the same school Mahira Umytjanova and a student of the Children's Art School of the city of Seydi of the Danev etrap Maksat Shakirjanova took 2nd place, a student of the Children's Art School of the city of Sakar of the Sayat etrap Mekan Muhtarbayeva and students of the Children's Art School of the city of Turkmenabat Enesh Rejepova and Melike Bekmuradova took 3rd place.
