After one-on-one meeting of the leaders of Turkmenistan and Tajikistan, the talks were continued in extended format with participation of the official delegations of both countries.
During the talks, the sides agreed on the approaches to the cooperation in the world arena. The intent of both countries to expand cooperation and coordinate the measures under large international organizations including the UN, OSCE, regional associations where Turkmenistan and Tajikistan are the members has been highlighted. Traditional practice of mutual support in the United Nations indicating the similarity of approaches of the sides to important issues of modern global development, particularly in such spheres as provision of peace and security, stable energy, transport, ecology and climate change will be continued.
Turkmenistan will also continue close collaboration with Tajikistan both in bilateral and multilateral formats for efficient counteracting of dangerous challenges and threats of the present.
Having noted that due to different reasons the issues of consolidation of the security in the regions are set as utmost plan of Turkmen – Tajik cooperation, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov highlighted that partnership between two states based on similarity of the views on regional processes serves as key component in realization of this objective.
Importance of establishment of efficient mechanisms of provision of peace and stability in the Central Asia, non-admission of conflict situations, solution of all existing issues by political and diplomatic measures as well as consolidation of neighbourhood, consideration and compliance of mutual interest have been emphasized.
