International expert Olena Starets visited our country as part of the development of cooperation between Turkmenistan and the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF).
The visit was aimed at facilitating the national implementation of international protocols and standards in the field of child health protection. In this regard, training sessions were organized to further establish a network of qualified national specialists. The expert presented important clinical guidelines on the assessment, classification, and treatment of childhood diseases, as well as infant care, including issues related to nutrition and immunization.
Olena Starets also conducted public awareness events titled "Keeping Our Children Healthy." The sessions gathered about 100 participants, including young parents, who enhanced their knowledge on home childcare.
As noted by Alexandru Nartea, UNICEF Deputy Representative in Turkmenistan, integrating the recommended protocols and standards of child health protection into everyday medical and parental practice is a guarantee of protecting every child from diseases.
